GARDEN REALITY

Happy Tuesday peeps!

I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the garden now...

and the weekend was total messiness.

After waiting alllll winter long…everything hits at once when the weather gets decent.

So here I am baring my garden as a gal would bare her face without make-up.

Oh I mean…how do they say it now...oh yeah…

here’s the garden in all her fresh-faced beauty.

Pretend she just got out of bed in the morning.

{would Martha Stewart do this?}

The greenhouse has become a magnet for stuff...

 potatoes chitting...

bins and more bins and a bike thrown in.

ARGH!

 That dang winter rye {even tho pitchforked over} is taking fuheva to die!

I have potatoes and onions to plant for crying out loud!

I just might lay black plastic trash bags flat on top to kill it off ASAP.

Garden frustration.

 Mr. Denim has been busy with a gate relocation project.

Pure messiness.

{PS…remember that bluebird house on the fence post?…we've got some flying in and out of it now!!!}

 Ta-Da…the big picture...

 I planted a few romaine starts in the gutter above…and transplanted some old strawberries below.

I think I’ll plant some radishes in between the romaine.

We’ll see how this gutter experiment goes. I give it 50/50.

 I think Mrs. Meyer bit the dust last month.  She’s been fine in the greenhouse all winter...

but late one cold afternoon I watered her…bad idea...

the night got below 20 and probably finished her off.

She’s outside now where she was last year…so we’ll see if I’m right or wrong.

 This guy is always distracting me.

Riley the ball fiend.

 I planted kale and broccoli in two beds...

and keeping fingers crossed about freezes.

I’ll cover them up if it gets too cold.

They’re wilting in the photo ‘cause it was pretty warm last weekend and I had just planted them.

But it’s raining today and they’re fine now.

I took a bit of time to just R.E.L.A.X. in the sun too.

In spite of all my to-dos.

And saw a bit of sky woo-woo overhead too.

Pure and total woo-woo.
