Hey hey hey gardenistas…when summer arrives here in the northern latitudes you gotta get out and enjoy every minute of its goodness.
The weeds can wait.
We can’t squander these days. After all, winter’s coming. Got it?
Mr. Denim announced last month that he was going to ride in the annual CHAFE 150 here in Sandpoint….and I didn’t believe it.
Until he said he’d be riding the 30 miler, not the 150 or 80 miler. {OK…but he got the jersey anyway 🙂 }
So he’s been training for a month riding long bike rides…in the cold and rain and gloom.
Well, the big day arrived yesterday.
Time to saddle up. And wowza…what a gorgeous day!
The hard-core bicyclists doing the 150 and 80 miles had already left hours ago.
The 30-miler wasn’t a race…just good old fashioned fun.
At the start line an Amtrak train whooshed by.
Off they go. See ya in about two hours!
So I whiled away the time at the beach.
Tough, huh?!?
Back already?!?…Mr. Denim came in 11th out of about 70.
Afterwards, the spoils of his effort…and a beer.
Congratulations hubby…you did it!!!
The 80 miler next year?!? We’ll see 🙂
Now back to my weed pulling.
Congratulations Mr.Denim!!
Vanessa and I just read this after pulling weeds all day. Holly you’re right, we’re taking full advantage of these long summer days. Your blog is so cool to read and always brightens up our day.

Thanks Hank!
